retrospective

As a photographer, I believe in the power of the image as a form of communication; a visual expression of that which words cannot articulate.

With a Graphic Design background, I discovered a passion for the photographic image through an exploration of the creative post-production process. This led me to experiment with different ways of creating images using the camera itself as a tool. I have found that a merging of both means of image creation is the only way to realize my photographic visions.

Experimentation is the inspiration for my work. I have learned to hone in on an idea and explore its variations, developing a themed collection of images. These studies invite the viewer to draw their own narrative from both the individual photographs and the body of work as one entity.

During 2005/2006 I developed and taught a short course called "Digital Photography & Image Processing" at Leicester University, UK. This experience encouraged me to look within my working processes, essentially fine-tuning my skills and providing an excellent platform to share and develop these skills with other artists.

I am currently living and working in Australia.
